Happy Easter

Date: 28th Mar 2021 @ 7:56pm

Over the past two weeks the Nursery children have been continuing their phonics learning focusing on the sounds 'b' and 'h' through the stories below. We have been sorting baby items beginning with the 'b' sound, we have practised writing the letter 'b' on bib templates and the letter 'h' on hats. We have also begun focusing on our blending and segmenting skills of simple vc, cv and cvc words with some of our phonic superstars which is very exciting!!

As Spring and Easter approaches the chidlren have been exploring painting with flowers and we have been learning about the different parts of a flower and why they are important. The chidlren have also been learning how to plant seeds and are very excited to be bringing their own sunflowers home with them on Monday which they have planted in school to watch as they grow over the Easter holidays. Can they talk to you about what they need to do and where they need to put it to keep their flower alive?

For Math's this week we have been thinking about 'size' and using the language of size to describe different objects around them. We have been ordering Easter eggs from the biggest to the smallest. They did very well not to eat them all at the same time!

We hope you all have a wonderful, safe Easter holidays enjoying the sunshine and the beauty of Spring with your loved ones.
