Orally re-telling stories

This week in Year 1 we have planned our own stories based on the story of Dogger. We did this through creating our own story maps. We changed the character of Dogger to our own favourite toy, and the character of Dave to us. We also changed the setting of the school fair to our own setting that we drew and labelled. We then practiced orally re-telling our stories using our maps with a partner, and some of us even shared them with the whole class.

We are now ready to write some brilliant stories all about our favourite toys.
