Damage to the valley after heavy rain

Date: 11th Oct 2019 @ 7:25am

The heavy rain over the last few weeks is causing damage to the banks of Taunton Brook in the valley next to Canon Burrows. Particularly heavy rain on the last weekend in September erroded the bank where the main bridge over the stream is and has resulted in it falling. The bridge has been in place here for over thirty years and is part of the well used footpath network used by many in the local community. Further errosion to the waterside path has made this treacherous as well!

On Thursday 3rd of October Nigel, Miss Sutton & Mr Clark took the bridge apart to ensure that no accidents could happen resulting from the collapse. The year six team from Miss Clayton's class helped with removing nails and moving wooden slats to a safe place insde the fence.

There is a big job ahead, which the school is going to need help with, to replace the bridge. and repair the footpaths
