Giant African Snails

Date: 18th Oct 2018 @ 2:33pm

A big thank you to Eva's mum for bringing their exciting new pets to visit the Reception children. The children loved learning all about African Land Snails, finding out what habitats they need, what they eat and how they need to be looked after. The children asked lots of questions and were really brave and had a go at holding the snails in their hands!

This week in Maths the children have been learning about 2D shapes trying to recgonize and name the 2D shapes and describe the properties of a circle, square, triangle, rectangle (oblong), pentagon, oval, heart and star. The children have been counting how many sides/ corners each shape has and thinking about whether they have straight or curvy sides. During continuous provision they have been creating their own repeating patterns and making pictures using 2D shapes.
