Listening Walk with Harold

Date: 15th Oct 2020 @ 12:56pm

This week the Nursery children have been learning about the story 'Harold finds a voice'. They made their own parrot puppets and then we took them on a walk around the school and around the school grounds to listen to all of the wonderful sounds we could hear. The children had lots of fun practising their Phase 1 phonics and they heard lots of different sounds from birds, the wind in the trees, cars and the traffic lights beeping.

We have also been very busy with our outdoor learning, the children have been exploring mark making with different Autumnal objects, counting the correct amount of animals into the numbered pens, having a shape hunt around the playground and learning the rhyme '5 Cheeky Monkeys' as part of our learning of the number of the week 'Number 5'.
