Spring 2 Week 3
Date: 16th Mar 2026 @ 12:13pm
The Nursery children had a very exciting visit to Cockfields Farm this week for our class trip. We had such a wonderful morning feeding the animals, holding insects, holding chicks, making crafts, going on a tractor ride and playing in the play area with our friends.
In Phonics we have been looking at the sound ‘r’, sorting objects by initial sounds and using our robot voices to segment and blend words together. E.g. can you find the p-i-g, can you find the d-u-ck. This week our nursery rhyme focus has been ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ and our Poem was called ‘Mrs Bluebird’.
In Maths we have been continuing our learning of positional words by describing where something is through the story ‘Where is Spot?’ and following simple instructions.
In PSHE we have been thinking about different emotions and how we show these through facial expressions. We have been practising how to draw different facial expressions to develop our drawing skills.
The children have been learning all about Mothers Day this week and how it is traditionally celebrated. We have been busy making Mothers Day cards to take home and painting some lovely flower pictures to take home too.
In Squiggle while you wiggle this week we have been re-visiting our crossover marks by putting together our ‘up down’ and ‘side to side’ marks. We then looked at how we can use these marks to form some of the letters in our friends names.
