Pupil Premium

What is it?

The pupil premium is a grant given to schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. who currently claims free school meals or has done so in the past. Findings show that children who are eligible for pupil premium funding generally have lower educational attainment than their peers.

Pupil Premium funding (PPG) is available for any pupil who:

  • currently, or at any point in the last six years, has been eligible for free school meals (FSM);

  • have been looked after continuously by a local authority for more than six months (CLA);

  • have a parent who serves in the armed forces

It is vital that any parent whose child is eligible for pupil premium applies, even if they do not choose to claim the free meals, as the grant enables us to provide extra resources for your child.

What we do.

The government allows us to spend this money in a variety of ways. We make sure that it impacts the children positively by improving their literacy and mathematical skills, as well as their social and emotional well-being.
