Summer 1 Week 6

Week 6

This week has been Arts week in school so the children have had lots of fun showing off their creativity through creating beautiful art work using lots of different techniques and media. 

The Nursery children had a wonderful morning with their parents celebrating the start of Arts Week. The children worked really hard practicing their sewing skills to make some spider webs and used their fine motor skills to make some collage Cherry Blossom Trees by scrunching up tissue paper.

The Nursery children have experienced some lovely art workshops with different artists throughout the week from a music workshop using a variety of instruments to represent different insects to a craft workshop where they made some lovely Hungry Caterpillar pictures.

We have also been busy exploring the different books written by the author Eric Carle and we have created some beautiful art pieces inspired by them from ladybird pebbles, clay caterpillars to flower paintings.

In provision the children have also been creating pictures of butterflies and caterpillars with different media and challenging themselves to write the initial sounds.
