Maths
In Maths this week we have been continuing our learning on comparing amounts. We looked at different collections of objects around the classroom and learnt about how a collection of objects means there is more than one of the same things. We enjoyed some different types of snacks- crackers, grapes and breadsticks in a basket linked with the story ‘Red Riding Hood’. We described whether we had lots of crackers/ grapes and breadsticks or just a few.
PE
In PE we have practicing moving safely around showing an awareness of where others are and stopping with control. We have also began to practice some simple throwing and catching skills using bibs.
UW
We have been learning about our families this week and comparing how all of our families are special but different from each other.
PSHE
As part of our PSHE learning we have been learning all about our brain and what our brain helps us to do. We created our own glitter sensory bottles to help calm us down if we need them in our classroom.
R.E
For our R.E learning this week we saw something amazing, unique and made by God- us! We looked carefully at ourselves in a mirror and thought about our skin colour and saw that God made us a rainbow of colours. We tried hard to paint our own self-portraits thinking about the colour of our hair, eyes and skin and what features we have on our faces that we needed to paint.
Rhyme Time, Phonics and Poetry Basket
Our Nursery Rhyme for this week is ‘A sailor went to sea sea sea’. In Phonics we have been working on our Phase 1 Phonics listening skills of making different sounds with our voices. Our poem for this week was ‘Leaves are falling’.
Squiggle while you wiggle
In Squiggle while you Wiggle we have strengthened our fine and gross motor skills by making side to side movements and marks while we boogied along to ‘Walking on Sunshine’ by Katrina and the Waves.
Music
In Music we have been singing and moving along to the song ‘well you walk and you walk’ practising our listening skills to stop in time to the music.

Independent Learning
During Independent learning this week the children have been enjoying exploring our outdoor environment in the Early years garden, acting out role-play with the doll’s house, building houses with our friends with the bricks and building sandcastles in our sandpit. We have had lots of fun!
